Television shows utilize music to bolster the effect of the scene. When watching television, I bet you typically don't pay mind to the music in the background. Perhaps you should. The TV show Family Guy utilizes a full orchestra to assemble their pieces. It's played live for filming.

What television shows do you know that pays so much mind to music? How important is a television show's music additions to the scenes? Have you ever watched Family Guy and paid attention to the musical components? What are your thoughts on this incorporation of two different types of media?

It seems like this has died out in movies/film and also in music - if you know what I mean. Well, in music, you simply don't hear a lot of orchestra - like you did in the 1960s. Anyway, I don't see the harm with orchestra. I mean, it's not like they can't do it now.

I had a stint with our own Film Academy. Oldtimers say that big movies require a full orchestra for the musical scoring. Come to think of it, I'm still a member of the musical directors guild until now.

When I think orchestra in Television, my brain goes straight to the old cartoons, like the Looney Tunes.
Like the one when he's a hairdresser.

This video I found is for an event, but I think it is cool how the cartoons were done to match the music and it all made sense. It was a nice way to expose us to them in a fun way.
