I love listening to reggae songs, it's one of my favorite genre to be honest. I have plenty of reggae songs that I like yet one of the best in my personal opinion is Baby I Love Your Way by Big Mountain. I also heard some cover of that song which are quite impressive but the version of Big Mountain is definitely the best for me.

What about you? What is your favorite reggae song?

Any song by Bob Marley will do. I'm listening to a local band named Franco. And i think They are a fusion of rock and reggae. Quite cool band.

I have listen to many reggae songs by different great artists, Peter Tosh, Shaggy and some others. Well when it comes to reggae music I still give it to songs by the reggae legend Bob Marley. I am at home with the song, One Love.

Bob Marley anytime but I still.do losten to other artists like Shaggy.

I guess reggae music will always find fans. It is something that just clicks at one point or another.

I like any song from Inner Circle, UB40 or Bob Marley. Many may want to murder me but I actually prefer UB40 to Bob Marley. Only because I like Red Red Wine out of all Reggae music.

It would have just be something from Bob Marley. I know that it is cliche and all of that, but still, you have to understand. I would say No Woman No Cry is a pretty safe classic to choose.

Any song by Lucky Dube or the Morgan Family is my favourite. I love all their songs. I also listen to all the other reggae musicians but these two top the list.

Reggae is not my favorite genre of music (in fact, Reggae is among one of the genres of music that I least like), so... I really don't have any music that I can call a favorite. However, I like some songs from Bob Marley and Shaggy.

Now that I have just heard some good Marley I have to include One Love on my list...such a classic. I do want to thank those who mentioned Eek a Mouse though, I had forgot about them (or him).

One of my favorites that I can think of off the top of my head is "Stand Firm" by Peter Tosh. This is a good song because of the message and because it just sounds good.

My favorite raggae song is done by Jimmy Cliff and is a cover by Johnny Nash called "I can see clearly now" and he is a pretty big raggae star himself as well.
What a good choice! Jimmy Cliff is a great - and very versatile - artist. It's a shame he hasn't had the recognition of the big media (which has the bad habit of dictating what should or should not be heard wtf).

I met Peter Tosh recently (a few days ago). I still haven't heard much of his songs yet, but from what I've heard so far he seems to be an artist with very interesting songs (and his voice is also good).

Well I am thinking through a bunch of different ones now, but the more that I think about it the more that I realize that it has to be a Marley song. I would go with Redemption Song, but then again One Love is great. Tosh is good too though.

You mentioned two real classics songs: "Redemption Song" and "One Love". They are songs that have a great melody and a very well written lyrics. I think they are referential songs when it comes to Reggae.

Going by Reggae riddims, I would go with Busy Signal's Black people. The song is deep and every lyric has an awesome meaning. I like the fact that Busy Signal was able to pass a clear message to all and sundry. Discrimination based on race is rampant all over the world. This is mostly to Afrodescendants where in most countries they are considered failures or low class. Just the other day we had Lebron Jame's home vandalised. Busy sings that we are all equal and it would do us good if we united for a good course.

In the Roots category, I go with Lucky Dube. He has great tunes with awesome messages e.g Nobody can stop reggae. I always never go a week without listening to Lucky. He cemented hs place in the Roots scene with good tracks and just like Bob Marley, he will be remembered in our hearts forever.

I really enjoy the song One Love by Bob Marley. It is very relaxing and some how very sootthing for me. I remember when I was in high school my art teacher would play her Bob Marley CD and that song would stand out from the rest for me. It also has a beautiful meaning which I think it's what makes it even more a lovely song.
