Why do you like Metal music?

I'm a big fan of Rock, but I'm definitely not a fan of this musical subgenre. I think Metal is extremely exaggerated and appealing (in a bad sense). Not to mention the boring artists who usually represent the genre. wtf

Don't get me wrong, it's just my opinion about it and I like to read yours and try to see something good related to this genre. :)

Its not really my cup of tea either, and gives me quite a bit of anxiety pretty much although I think some of these songs when done in a very acoustic way are ok ,and some of the lyrics can be very uplifting as well but the genre overall is to aggressive for me. I like the easy mellow kinds of genres but then you kind of really mellow with age I think.

In the end, it just boils down to preferences. I like specific metal subgenres because of the riffs, the groove, and the intensity of the songs. I don't like the new metal genres these days like Metalcore or those other bands that just mash their double pedals in a dull, continuous manner. I like my metal with a bit of groove to it, like classic Korn, Slipknot, and Metallica albums. It also gives me a rush of adrenaline at times, depending on the song. Also, metal concerts have insane crowds

I've always been a fan of Symphony and gothic metal. I love the mix between heavy music and classical elements. Bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation and Theatre of Tragedy are my long time favorites. I feel like they're kind of relaxing to listen to, and the lyrics are amazing. Here's one of my favorites:

I love listening to heavy metal during my workouts when I'm lifting weights. It helps keeps me motivated and it just fits the situation of working out. If you haven't tried listening to heavy metal music while working out I highly recommend it! :)

To be honest, the music I prefer to listen to are the so called soft and light. Not exactly ballad but not as fast as pop either. It’s hard to explain, sorry. With metal rock, I have no abhorrence to speak of although I don’t listen to it except for a few songs that I cannot remember the title for now. You see, people at home have their varied tastes so when they play their kind of music, I can hear it too.

When I was in college, I had a lot of friends who used to be into rock music. And then some of them were also into death metal. And it seems like most of them were enjoying it till the late 30s. And then they decided to get out of that type of the music. I guess it's more or less like a phase. And we all change on that slowly. It does however make me feel odd these days. The music that I used to like in metal category is something I am not listening to anymore.

I have friends who like Metal and we all refer to it as the angry guys singing. :D

It's very hard to listen to and I think I'll be having a migraine everytime he starts playing his playlist. The one thing I hate about him is he disrespects my taste in music. I like listening to acoustic songs, pop, and some rock. I wonder if most of the people who like metal are also like him.

I don't need it to work out - or even music, but I like it anyway.

When I was in school, I used to be a bit of a rock, emo kid lol. I used to listen to all kinds of metal music but looking back, I think I was trying to be someone I wasn't. Took me years to figure out who I was but I still do listen to metal music now and again :D
