What has been your biggest inspiration to write songs? Is it a process you have to put yourself into, or you just wait until the inspiration hits? I write songs mostly in my free time, and I'd like to improve the quality of my lyrics. Can we give ourselves some tips?

I am not a songwriter but my husband is. He had composed more than 300 songs. And although he is only an amateur because he has no songs that were produced for public consumption, he had won several songwriting contests and was a grand winner in one government agency’s songwriting competition. I cannot say what inspires him because he could writes a song in one day, actually in a few hours only, that’s complete with the melody and lyrics. But sometimes there are songs he writes that takes him days. Obviously, he writes fast when he is inspired. The only thing he tells me about inspiration is when he had thought of a good story for his song.

I would say you must put yourself into writing lyrics, you will improve everything by your own.

I really cannot say what inspires me when I write songs but I am motivated at the thought that I could write real songs with the lyrics and the melody. But sometimes I get inspiration from people that I meet and those around me. It's been some years that I had last written a song.
