In one casual conversation in our office about music, one colleague remarked that most jazz music enthusiast that he knows are those with low IQ. That’s a slur, all right, but I guess he has a right to his opinion. And come to think of it, I also made a mental recollection of people I know who love jazz. Hmm, maybe my colleague was right in saying that. Would you agree to that?

Jazz is like any form a music, it comes down to personally taste. Jazz has been around for decades and as time goes by, many people might not be able to get into it because they didn't grow up in that age. I really wouldn't say jazz is boring even though I'm in my early twenties, but some songs are a hit while others are a miss.

I do not know but boring people and low IQ people are not one in the same. The things I know about Jazz Music though, is that it can lower your blood pressure and reduce chronic pain as well-and also its very good for your immunity. Overall the innovative riffs and cool tones are a natural stress reliever and also Jazz can stimulate the mind. Since its summertime-listen to some Norah Jones (for your health at least)

Though music can sometimes be related to certain people, ethnicities, and backgrounds; it's not true that only a group of people listen to certain music. @Folk Artist thank you for the song. I don't personally listen to Jazz but I loved that Jam. I'll make sure to listen to some more in the future.

It is not like that. It depends on the mood. Sometimes the people who use to listen to hard rock or trance, they like to listen to the jazz. It depends on your mood. If you are in the sad or romantic mood then you would prefer to listen to Jazz music.

I enjoy jazz music so that must mean I have a low IQ from what that guy said :D I don't think jazz is dying down. There are thousands of jazz radio stations out there online. It all depends on what the mood is and if jazz music is your taste or not. I find jazz music to be relaxing.

The propulsive syncopated rhythms and often deliberate distortions of pitch and timbre of jazz always makes me feel relax and calm. I don't why but its so good to hear for me. But it doesn't mean that I am boring, maybe that's just my taste and personality when it comes to music.

I like to listen jazz music in night time. I like its rhythm. For me, it is cool to hear, relaxing and romantic. Particularly, I like that music played in piano, brass and woodwind but I do not prefer with guitar. How I just imagined playing those instruments especially piano.

jazz is a style of music that was invented by African American Musicians. Just like any kind of music it may not suit every one. Personally I love jazz I find it relaxing after a long day of work. FYI its not easy to play especially those usually heavily accented rhythms.

Honestly I love Jazz and reggae, I arrange any song and translate it into reggae or jazz, I have a cover of Shape of You by Ed Sheeran in Jazz.

I study music for almost 3 years if I'm not mistaken, I play acoustic guitar in a reggae style or Jazz style :)

I don't think jazz is for those boring people. For my own opinion, jazz music is for those who can actual appreciate a good music. And I strongly disagree that listening to jazz music makes the listener boring. Maybe for some reason this could be their way of relaxing after a noisy crowd, busy day or maybe from a long day at work. Jazz is maybe mellow but for some it is like their meditation from an exhausted situation they were in.

I think it is just one those musical myth that Jazz is for boring people. Jazz music appeals to all classes of people, the reserved and the outspoken, the introverts and extroverts.
It does, like other, genre of music, appeal to the soul and provide motivation to its listeners.
