I have noticed that we have no original country music here even if our country is composed of islands, water and mountains. Maybe it is due to the influence of the radio. In the olden times, the radio is the main source of music. That is the reason why local pop became popular. There’s also the so called Pinoy Rock which are rock in Filipino. It was amusing to hear that in the 1970s because of its novelty. But now Pinoy rock is a common genre here. With country music, I guess it will be popular if the radio stations would support the genre.

It sounds like you do have some kind of mixed country-folk music though-but it sounds more Hawaiian than it does country with more of a treble sounding guitar, instead of so much bass ? I looked up some Pinoy music on Youtube though and found a country folk kind of music though-and Its not bad!

it almost same in my country, nothing so much about country music maybe because it really not given the needed airplay so it just there and artistes are just jumping around with hip hop music mostly. When I need to have my filled of country music I stream them online and I.will good to go.
