There is a saying here that you can determine the wealth of the dead when there is a marching band in the funeral march. That is the tradition here. When a government official or a wealthy person dies, for sure there is a marching band in the funeral march. That tradition was already dying during my younger years as an adult. But lately, it is again surfacing with the proliferation of marching bands mostly composed of young musicians. But in a funeral march, there is no majorette though.

Where drums are involved, you can bet there's usually a big do. Drums are big and loud and you hear them from a mile away. Especially a drum set with a full band. I think the bigger the celebration, like a royal wedding, the bigger the band.

Bands in funeral proves the music starts from our birth and stops at death.

I only see these whenever I watch old films, but nowadays, I don't think people are into this anymore. I only get to hear this kind of band playing during Easter processions when people in my place commemorate the death of Jesus.

It's true. I've seen a funeral before with a band. My grandmother said also when music is playing during the funeral, all bad lucks will go away. Only good vibes. It also lifts the spirit towards heaven. Of course, these are just a saying from our lola, or grandma, but it's actually a good scene having a live band during funeral. I'd love to request a song when I've seen one again. :)

Music played at funeral march might be like there's a occasion more than funeral. It's like more than festival occasions.
