One musician friend said that in heavy metal, it is not only the electric guitar is on a rampage but also the drums. That’s why drummers of heavy metal bands have to take energy drinks because they would be needing lots of energy when they play especially so when the music they play is continuous. Banging the cymbals and the drums is not an easy task when done regularly in succession. But I haven’t noticed that when I am watching a live performance of a a heavy metal band. Maybe it’s my ear again.

Well it really is tiring, even though I haven't played in a concert before or a real gig, just a two hour practice tires me a lot. Not to mention there were times when I was just starting that I would hit the rim with my finger but I still need to play because renting a studio for practice wasn't cheap. But there are tricks on playing the drums like using double pedals and you just need a bit of hype so you would look like doing a lot even if you're just using the pedals just to make good noise LOL!

drumming in heavy metal sounds so good but it's so tiring to play! Even after just a few minutes you will be really tired because of how fast you have to play. I would rather just listen to heavy metal music than to try and play the drum beats!
