I don’t think I can relate to this although I have been listening to a radio station that plays old songs in the 60s up to the 80s. However, I may be familiar with the song but I don’t know the title. Hmm, maybe the best I can remember is Frank Sinatra’s When I Think Of You. Another singer who has nice songs in that era is Johnny Mathis and you can also add Bing Crosby.

I search 96 tears on youtube and their music sounds like country song and I think it's good to listen in their song when you are driving. I don't have a particular favorite song in the 60's since I was born in 80's. But I have a favorite band of 70's and that is "The Four Brothers" I love their songs titled Greenfields it's a sad song tho.

The 60s was one of the richest (musically speaking) periods in history. I couldn't pick just one song as my favorite because the amount of good / great songs (as well as singers and bands) is really impressive. So, it would be a little unfair if I had to do that.

It's a pity that the music scene is so distorted these days.

The Beatles were pretty big in the 60s- and the British Invasion was when a lot of the music acts from the United Kingdom became very big in the States. These bands included Dave Clark Five,The Kinks,Rolling Stones,Herman's Hermits, and the Animals led the way along with the Beatles. A song I like a lot though, was a song called "Needles and Pins"(1964) by a band called the Searchers!

I was in grade school during that era of 1960s and what I remember is the movie Sound of Music which was a worldwide hit. My classmates have been singing the songs in that movie and our teacher even taught us the them song with the start - My day in the hills has come to an end.

There are many songs I enjoy.

One of my favourites is by The Rolling Stones. It was released in 1969 so barely makes it, haha.
It is called: You can't always get what you want.
I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would meet her connection
At her feet was her footloose man
No, you can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime you find
You get what you need

And I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we're gonna blow a fifty-amp fuse"
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, well, you just might find
You get what you need

I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need
You get what you need, yeah, oh baby

I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well, I could tell by her blood-stained hands
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need, oh yeah
I think the rhythm and the chorus are really good. I really liked it since the first time I heard it.

Another classic that I like is: Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival
With BotW, I'd love a compilation of failures with this song, hahah.

There are more but I think two videos in one post is good enough, haha.
Something I learned growing up was that many songs we can be singing in our era are actually covers from older songs and some others we have just been so immersed to realise they are that old. The '60s is an interesting decade because it was around the time when things passed from acoustic to electric. It was a point of change in music and the world. :D
