I was in grade school when the golden decade of music was in its heyday – 1970s. So many bands became popular, so many singers became famous and so many songs hit the chart and stayed there for a time. Now this big question – what is your favorite song in the 1970s? Maybe I will settle for the most popular song in that era and it is Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin. Do I need to say more that it captured the hearts and minds of the youth because of the guitar and the lyrics?

I was'nt born in the year '70's but my heart is filled of love for old songs. It all started back when I was a kid, my parents always kept on playing old songs on the radio. I used to listen to it even I don't want to but I had no choice at that time. As I get older, I always listen to my year songs or some millenial songs. As I realized today, all new songs nowadays are'nt my type anymore. Some of the songs today are not meaningful meaning to say they're nonsense. Now, I'm missing the old songs I used to listened before, so what I did I downloaded those songs starting in 1950's and up. They're such wonderful classic songs that have meaningful lyrics can relate in life that can give us incredible comfort we're looking for.

I grew up in 90's but I feel like I was born in that era.I love all the songs.I love all the singers.Every time I listen to old songs like BeeGees, Carpenters, Beatles, I always feel that I belonged to that generation and always gives me goosebumps.I have the very best impression of old songs and singer and they are incomparable. But, you are asking for just one song, I'm hard to pick one because I don't have a certain song in my mind for I love all the old songs.but lately, after my dad had passed recently, this song makes me cry remembering him "For the Good Times" by Pery Como.

Bob Marley rocks the '70s
Buffalo Soldier is mine favourite

Buffalo soldier, dreadlocked rasta
There was a Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America
Stolen from Africa, brought to America
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival

I mean it, when I analyse the stench
To me it makes a lot of sense
How the dreadlocked rasta was a Buffalo Soldier

My favorite song from the 1970 years is Lay Down (Candles in the wind) by Melanie and The Edwin Hawkins Singers because I like her voice very much and the chorus is what it was significant in that period.

I wasn't born in the 1970's however my heart has fallen for some of the music back in the olden days. One of my old time favorites is a song written by the Bee Gees, known as Stayin' Alive. It's catchy and repetitive, I'm singing the lyrics in my mind as I'm writing the post now. Here is the song embed in this forum post.

They had some great songs back in the 70s, and I grew up in these great music times. I could never name just one song though - to many good songs back then, but I remember listening to a lot of "Three Dog Night" and this song called Love Grows(Where My Rosemary Goes) by Edison Lighthouse -check this one out!
